5150 Training

CalMHSA, in collaboration with Sutter Health, offers counties a comprehensive training on California involuntary holds and 5150 laws. This program supports county staff who work in multiple jurisdictions with a single training that is updated monthly to reflect the changing landscape.

The training is accessible in two formats:

  • Live monthly sessions: A three-hour live training session conducted by Linda Garrett, Esq.
The live training sessions for 2024 will be conducted on the following dates from 1:00 PM to 4:15 PM:

    • July 16
    • August 13
    • September 11
    • October 9
    • November 6
    • December 3
  • Asynchronous training: The asynchronous sessions will be accessible for 28 days following each live training session.

Participants who are LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, or LEPs earn three Continuing Education Units for completion of either training format and the corresponding course evaluation.
