Credentialing

To help ease the costly, time consuming and cumbersome credentialing process for counties, CalMHSA has partnered with CertifyOS, a National Committee for Quality Assurance-certified Credentialing Verification Organization. CalMHSA embarked on this collaboration in response to concerns from both counties and contract provider organizations.

CertifyOS has a track record of reducing the time during which staff are unable to serve clients by accelerating time to credentialing. Features available to counties from a web-based platform include:

  • Provider ongoing monitoring
  • Built-in communication mechanisms
  • A transparent provider outreach module
  • Automated notifications
  • A virtual credentialing committee module
  • Reporting and analytics capabilities

All services align with the requirements in the Department of Health Care Services’ Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Services Information Notice (IN) Number 18-019 and DHCS Behavioral Health IN Number 22-070.
