Educational Partnership:
Project Cultivate
This partnership between CalMHSA and Palo Alto University – a private accredited nonprofit university – provides behavioral health-specific training for county staff who have a BA degree. The Project Cultivate curriculum includes two emphasis areas: marriage, family and child counseling, and clinical mental health counseling. Counties identify staff to fill cohorts the university designates specifically for them, which ultimately leads to an expanded and deepened county workforce capacity.
CalMHSA assists counties in this important endeavor by:
- Contracting with the university on behalf of counties
- Administering tuition funding on each county’s behalf
- Collaborating with the university on curriculum
